On this course you will advance your knowledge of all aspects of the electrical installation industry. Develop your understanding of the principles of electrical science and learn about regulatory requirements related to renewable energy. You will develop skills in fault diagnosis of complex systems and know how to carry out Inspection and testing procedures safely. The course also includes an understanding of electrical systems design. You will also study 17th Edition Wiring Regulations to aid your progression within the industry, assessed by online exam.

To progress on this course, and to go further in training or at work, its essential to have good Maths and English alongside vocational expertise. This is particularly true in this technical subject where employment opportunities begin at level 3 (i.e. equivalent to A level study) We encourage all applicants to work to achieve GCSE English and maths before leaving school, if at all possible. You will be assessed in a variety of ways including theory assignments with written questions, online tests, a design project and practical assignments. These will take place throughout the course.

You can progress to the Electrical Installation Advanced Apprenticeship if you successfully complete this course and show an aptitude for further study and obtain employment. For students over 24 years old progression onto the Competent Person Scheme. We will discuss these options with you as your course progresses. Progression to HNC is possible.
